Firing at night in front of Jamia Millia Gate, FIR lodged

There is news of firing outside Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia on late night on 2 February, Sunday. According to the news agency ANI, the police have registered the FIR of the incident. Soon after the incident, #JamiaShooting started trending on social media. There is no news of anyone being injured in the firing. It is being told that the bullet was fired in the air. The students, who have come to file a report, have claimed to have seen the boys riding the scooter.

After the incident, students of Jamia Millia Islamia reached Jamia Nagar Police Station. Late night, on the complaint of Jamia Millia Co-ordination Committee, the police registered a case. A case was registered at Jamia Nagar Police Station under Section 307 of the IPC and Section 27 of the Arms Act. The firing occurred at gate number five of the university. According to the news agency ANI, when the incident happened, the police force was present at the gate.

#Firing also took place earlier

On January 30, a case of firing was also reported in Jamia Nagar. In it, a 17-year-old youth was firing on the crowd marching against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). A student of Jamia was injured in this firing. The attacker was caught by the police. Currently, he has been sent to a child improvement home.

Constant demonstrations are going on in protest against CAA across the country. Demonstrations have been going on in Jamia Millia Islamia for weeks against the CAA.
